Egg Donation

Give the joy of parenthood through egg donation

As an egg donor, you can help give the joy of parenthood and earn financial rewards for your time by completing an egg donation cycle. Helping hopeful parents build their families is an amazing gift that egg donors provide. In addition to supporting others in fulfilling their dreams of having a baby, the egg donor gains the gift of financial compensation for her time.

Egg donation is coordinated through our partner Ovation Donor Services and your treatment would be conducted locally at one of our Fertility Answers clinics.

The egg donation process

The goal of an egg donation cycle is to harvest mature eggs from your ovaries to donate to another couple who need them to build a family. The recipient couple would use your donated eggs in an IVF cycle. After you are screened and accepted into the program, you will be matched with hopeful parents. After a match is made, egg donation is typically a four- to six-week process that includes continuous support from the egg donor coordinators at Ovation Donor Services.

During an egg donation cycle, your ovaries will be stimulated using injectable medications to create multiple mature egg follicles. The stimulation process for the egg retrieval will begin on the second day of your menstrual cycle. At this time, you will begin taking medications to stimulate egg production. A normal stimulation timeframe is 10-14 days, and includes regular monitoring. The stimulation process ends with the egg retrieval. You will need to take it easy for a couple of days after the retrieval, but should then feel ready to return to your normal activities.

Requirements for egg donors

Women must meet various criteria to qualify as egg donors. These criteria help to ensure that egg donors have a positive experience and that hopeful parents receive high-quality eggs.

  • Age. First-time donors must be aged between 21 and 29. Repeat donors can be up to 33.
  • Family History. Donors should be able to provide health information on their parents, their siblings, aunts and uncles, and grandparents.
  • Health. Donors should have a healthy lifestyle.

If you meet these preliminary requirements, you’re ready to move on to the next steps.
