Let the Good Times Roll in South Louisiana
Or as we say “les bon temps rouler”! There are good times to be had here and we would love for you to consider joining Fertility Answers. Get to know our region and the Fertility Answers practice and physicians.
Fertility Answers’ two locations are located in the southern part of this colorful state, offering endless opportunities to immerse yourself in one of the United States’ most unique cultures. While our two locations are only a short distance apart, they both offer unique takes on Louisiana culture and experience. Whether you enjoy the midsize city life or a quieter small-town feel, Fertility Answers’ home cities of Baton Rouge and Lafayette will make you feel right at home. Here you can live large for less, thanks to a cost of living that’s much lower than other major U.S. metropolitan areas.
The Capitol Region
Our Baton Rouge location is a great place to embrace the unique culture of local Louisiana. With a population of more than 800,000, the capital city is a large metroplex with a small town feel, alive with events, concerts, museums, restaurants, outdoor and indoor recreation centers, parks and sports.
The Capital Region’s fine arts scene is one of Louisiana’s best-kept secrets. Baton Rouge’s vibrant music and live entertainment scene is a hub for local artists, and attracts musical acts and art exhibits from around the world. The state’s mild climate welcomes year-round events, including the Ascension Hot Air Balloon Festival, Baton Rouge Blues Festival, Louisiana International Film Festival and Third Street Songwriters Festival. Renowned art and science museums are home to permanent and traveling exhibits that offer something for everyone.
A welcoming city for growing families, the Baton Rouge area is home to four of Louisiana’s top 10 public school districts. The city is home to two public, four-year institutions of higher learning – Louisiana State University and Southern University – as well as multiple community, specialty and technical colleges. This education hub attracts scholars and talent from across Louisiana and the nation, contributing to the area’s economic boom.
The Acadiana Region
Located in the heart of French Louisiana, our Lafayette location enjoys the unique blend of Cajun and Creole culture and history where there’s no shortage of great music, food and festivals. Named the Best Place to Live in Louisiana by U.S. New & World Report in 2024 and recently named the Happiest City in America, Lafayette has a thriving culture, robust economy, and high quality of life within a metropolitan area that boasts a population of around 375,000.
Known as the heart of Cajun and Creole country, in Lafayette you will find a vibrant arts scene, diverse culinary experiences, Cajun and Zydeco music, and numerous festivals that celebrate its unique heritage. Here, you can enjoy traditional South Louisiana experiences in a family-friendly atmosphere, including Mardi Gras parades, the world-renowned Festival International de Louisiane, and Festival Acadiens et Creole, all free events with something for the whole family. Or venture further out in our surrounding parishes to experience swamp life, the birthplace of Tabasco hot sauce, or Cajun jams in local parks and restaurants.
Lafayette successfully balances a small-town feel while offering the amenities of a larger city, providing a high quality of life for families and individuals alike. Home to highly-rated schools and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, the city fosters a culture of learning and innovation. UL Lafayette is also home to the Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise, a center for innovation and technology-based business development in Louisiana, the world’s first and only data visualization facility created as a public/private partnership.

Our mission here at Fertility Answers is to build families by providing focused infertility healthcare while honoring each patient’s unique needs, offering realistic expectations and outcomes, and treating each patient with the respect and compassion they deserve. We invite you to get to know our friendly team and learn more about our career opportunities in your consideration of joining Fertility Answers in Louisiana.
Led by physician partners John Storment, MD, and Neil Chappell, MD, Fertility Answers was founded in 2002 in Lafayette, LA and expanded into Baton Rouge in 2014. Our practice serves more than two-thirds of the state in 40+ parishes, drawing patients from Lake Charles, Alexandria, Covington and New Orleans. With few competing REI practices in the region, there is no shortage of patients needing our services.
Our physicians enjoy a close relationship with two full-service Ovation IVF labs physically located in each of our clinics, with collegial teams working together to optimize protocols and outcomes for IVF and IUI patients. In addition to IUI, egg retrieval and embryo transfer, our sophisticated facilities enable us to perform in-office procedures including endometrial biopsy, HSG, hysteroscopy, D&C and saline sonograms.
In addition to our team of reproductive endocrinologists, our practice includes a unique partnership with Posterity Health, providing reproductive urology solutions to our male fertility patients. Each member of the Fertility Answers team is an integral part of the patient experience, working collaboratively to give each patient the very best that reproductive medicine has to offer.
Hospital Partnership
Fertility Answers is partnered with several large hospital leaders in the area, including Ochsner Health System and St. Tammany Parish Hospital. Our Baton Rouge facility is conveniently attached to Woman’s Hospital, the largest hospital in the state serving exclusively women and neonates. This provides not only an excellent referral base, but easy access to well-staffed and stocked ORs for outpatient and inpatient procedures requiring general anesthesia. Woman’s Hospital is also home to a large cancer center, which we serve with fertility preservation services. Our Lafayette facility has close affiliations with both major hospitals and an outpatient ambulatory surgery center.
Teaching
Fertility Answers maintains good relationships with Louisiana State University residency programs in both Lafayette and Baton Rouge. Fertility Answers physicians serve as clinical faculty for the Louisiana State University Health Science Center Department of OB/GYN, and are involved in resident and medical student research.
Giving Back
Our Fertility Answers team is serious about community involvement, and is committed to sponsoring organizations that support people in our community experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss or stillbirth. Our annual Gift of Hope Grant program, in partnership with Ovation Fertility, offers IVF and IUI grants to qualified individuals and couples selected through an application process, helping overcome financial barriers to build families. Our physicians also participate each year in RESOLVE’s annual Advocacy Day, where the infertility community comes together to educate members of Congress about issues and legislation important to our community. Our fertility center is honored to be listed by Baton Rouge Pride as a leading LGBTQ+ Affirming Business.
Research
The Fertility Answers team continues to maintain active involvement in clinical research in PCOS and infertility. We routinely present posters and oral presentations at national meetings each year, and we stay involved with industry-sponsored research. There are many opportunities at Fertility Answers to collaborate with researchers from highly respected academic institutions, such as Louisiana State University, Baylor University and Tulane University.
