Dr. Neil Chappell, 2025 Baton Rouge Business Report Capital Region 500 honoree
Each year, Baton Rouge Business Report awards this honor to 500 individuals around the Capital Region who they see as key influencers.
Dr. Chappell received this award for being an advocate and champion for fertility rights in our state. In 2023, he helped pass a fertility preservation bill that mandates insurance companies in Louisiana cover freezing of eggs and sperm before cancer treatment. He was also instrumental in the passage in 2025 of a Louisiana bill to protect IVF and the doctors and medical professionals who provide this vital service to our community.
Dr. Neil Chappell selected as 2023 Forty Under 40 honoree
Honoring the Capital Region’s brightest young leaders, innovators and business professionals, Dr. Chappell was proud to be an honoree for 2023.
Besides being Baton Rouge’s leading reproductive endocrinologist, helping the infertile in our community build their families, Dr. Chappell is involved in many ongoing research studies, is well-published in many peer-reviewed journals, hosts a podcast on fertility issues, serves on the Woman’s Hospital Foundation, is a clinical instructor at LSU School of Medicine, Tulane School of Medicine, and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, and helped pass important legislation this year that will mandate insurance coverage for women with cancer to freeze their eggs before treatment.
