“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” –Jeremiah 29:11
Our story started online. Ryan and I met through an online dating website in 2006. While more than 1,600 miles apart, our relationship blossomed. After several years of dating long distance, we were married in 2011.
For the first few years of married life, we pursued our careers and made a move to Baton Rouge. After putting down roots, we started to try for a baby. After eight months of effort, I had my annual exam with my OBGYN. I brought up the lack of a pregnancy as a side note. My doctor suggested that they run a few tests, reassuring me that we didn’t need to wait the standard 12 months.
That’s when we found out there was a problem. The months of unsuccessful trying was because of male factor infertility. My OBGYN immediately referred us to Dr. Susan Conway at Fertility Answers in Baton Rouge.
After three unsuccessful rounds of IUI, we decided that IVF was our next step.
I was certainly hesitant, knowing that we had a long road ahead of us with many shots and doctor appointments. But the Fertility Answers staff were so kind and helpful.
We were blessed with two embryos. Chromosomal testing revealed that one of the embryos was normal. In October 2016, we transferred that one embryo. Our years of prayers were answered when the pregnancy test showed that the transfer took!
The Fertility Answers staff continued to guide us through the early months of pregnancy, including a threatened miscarriage. We couldn’t have done it without their help – both emotional and medical.
Just after midnight on June 25, 2017, we welcomed an adorable baby girl, Rory Marie. We are so fortunate that we found Fertility Answers and Dr. Conway. We cannot say thank you enough!
