Medication discounts for IVF provide financial help
Medication is an essential ingredient in fertility treatment cycles. Yet, more than half of people who need fertility treatment have no insurance coverage for the fertility medications required. To help reduce the cost of IVF for self-pay patients, we can help you find financial help for IVF through medication discount programs.
Programs that negotiate with fertility pharmaceutical manufacturers through a network of nationwide specialty pharmacies help make fertility treatment more affordable for patients whose insurance doesn’t cover fertility drugs. Many of these programs are income-based financial assistance programs that can help IVF patients save on certain fertility medications.
If your fertility medications are not covered by private or public insurance plans, or reimbursed under a federal or state healthcare program, you may be eligible for discounts through these programs.

The federal government is actively negotiating with pharmaceutical companies to lower medication costs for Americans on a variety of drugs, including some important fertility medications. Compassionate Care was designed to make fertility treatments more affordable for eligible self-pay patients without insurance or coverage for fertility medication. Savings are based on income. Eligible patients may save up to 50% off the self-pay price for the following EMD Serono products:
- Gonal-f® (follitropin alfa for injection) 10% off per 75 IU
- Ovidrel® PreFilled Syringe (choriogonadotropin alfa injection) 10% off per 250 mcg
- Cetrotide® (cetrorelix acetate for injection) 10% off per 0.25 mg
