Meet Our New Doctor!

AMB296WELCOME DR. DANA AMBLER
Reproductive Endrocrinologist, Fertility & Women's Health Center of Louisiana.

Hope has a new hero in Acadiana. Dr. Dana Ambler, a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist and a board-certified OB/Gyn, joins Dr. John Storment at Fertility & Women's Health Center of Louisiana, 206 E. Farrel Road, the Lafayette-based practice known for the annual Gift of Hope.

"Dana's list of academic accomplishments is extensive. She trained under some of the best physicians in the country and brings with her a wealth of knowledge," said Dr. Storment. "Her ability to relate to patients is her strength – not speaking in 'doctor talk,' but in a manner that allows patients to understand exactly what is going on."

Listening to patients is the "cornerstone" of quality patient care and Dr. Ambler's approach to building a trusting relationship with her patients, she said."Patients should feel that their concerns are being addressed," Dr. Ambler said, "and that their physician is doing all he or she can to help them achieve pregnancy. In my opinion, there is nothing greater than assisting a couple with the gift of a child, and eventually, a family."

Raised in Mount Laurel, N.J., Dr. Ambler earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Penn., in 1997 followed by a master's degree in biomedical science and pathology from University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 1999. She received her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Penn. four years later. Post graduate studies included a transitional internship at Garden City Hospital in Garden City, Mich., an obstetrics and gynecology residency at Wayne State University's Detroit Medical Center in Detroit and a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Geisinger Health System in Danville, Penn.

Dr. Storment came to Lafayette in 1999 to open his reproductive endocrinology and infertility practice – a time when many told him Acadiana was too small to support a full-time physician dedicated to this cause. "Since then, our practice has grown exponentially and has expanded to Alexandria and Lake Charles," Dr. Storment said. "Dr. Ambler interviewed at numerous practices and universities around the country and found this opportunity to be the best. She will bring with her a commitment and expertise in the treatment of infertile couples throughout south Louisiana."

Dr. Ambler tells it a different way. "Lafayette chose me," she said. "Dr. Storment's practice is extremely well built. His passion and strong work ethic made me come to Lafayette. When I came to interview here, I was overwhelmed by the friendliness and willingness to welcome me to the area. I am excited and committed to being here in Lafayette."

Dr. Ambler is accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment, call (337) 989-8795.
