Celebration Day 2009
1,190 Reasons to Celebrate!
Over 70 families attended Fertility & Women’s Health Center of
Louisiana’s “Celebration Day” held Sunday, October 25, 2009, a reunion in
honor of the center’s infertility successes. Invitees included all 1,190
children who have been born since 2000 with the help of the medical
expertise of Drs. William Pelletier, John Storment, and James Zehnder.
Honorees attending ranged in age from 3 weeks to 9 years old and came from
as far away as Lake Charles and Alexandria.
Along with their families, the children enjoyed fun jumps, face painting, games, crafts and celebration cake. Three lucky winner received door prizes from Toys R Us, Pippin McGee and The Zoo of Acadiana. Additionally, a children’s costume contest was held.
The event took place in the parking lot at Fertility & Women’s Health Center's new office located on Farrel Road. Celebration Day was also a collection site for food and baby items donated to FoodNet.
The doctors, staff and patients of Fertility & Women’s Health Center of Louisiana overwhelmingly enjoyed the reunion.
"We love Celebration Day and every year it gets better and better," said Dr. John Storment, reproductive endocrinologist at Fertility & Women's Health Center.
"We keep in contact with our patients, and we love this event because everybody comes back to say hello. Celebration Day was a great opportunity for our patients to return with the babies they conceived after so many prior disappointments with infertility. It was wonderful to see how proud all of these new parents are,” said Dr. Storment at the conclusion of the event.
Special
honoree at this year's event was Grace-Ann Elizabeth McCleery
celebrating her first Celebration Day. She is the daughter
of Beth and Eric McCleery, recipients of the
Gift of
Hope 2007 award. Grace-Ann was born April 7, 2009 as a result of the
free IVF cycle awarded through the
Gift of Hope program.
